MarkDown was created to facilitate the couponing experience. Before MarkDown, shoppers looking for coupons to their purchases had to browse several coupon sites and input the specific product or brand they were looking coupons for. This can become extremely hectic when searching for discounts to more than one item, especially when many of the available coupons are no longer viable. This method of couponing is especially impractical for brick and mortar shoppers still looking to get a deal on their purchases without having to spend precious time online. 

 

MarkDown makes searching and using coupons as easy as taking a picture of your shopping cart items. By using image recognition technology, barcode scanners, and location services, the app will access its large database so as to find and display to you at the click of one button all the coupons applicable to your purchase, as well as any coupons specific to the store at which you are located. Not only that, but the app will be able to notify the user if the store or location they are at is offering coupons on specific items that are currently not in their shopping cart.
